This week we celebrated our success of winning ASVOFF4 with a film screening, in London, of our 'I WANT MUSCLE' film. When Diane Pernet commissioned Elisha Smith-Leverock and myself to shoot a short film based on the theme of power we jumped at the chance to shoot a female body builder. Elisha and I wanted to draw on the beauty of these amazing women looking back at the 70's legends, such as Lisa Lyons. We found the perfect muse, Kizzy Vaines, and made our film. What an honour to then win the award! We wanted to hold an evening in London to celebrate and provide an opportunity for people to meet Kizzy and ask questions. Thanks to Creature for making this all possible and Nike for a wonderful space.

Gareth Pugh has just teamed up with M.A.C Cosmetics designing a cool, exciting range of nail varnishes, lashes, lipsticks, blush and shadow, all wrapped in a very signature 'Gareth Pugh' packaging, exploring light and dark. To celebrate this collaboration MAC threw a party at Ambika, where the much anticipated film, shot by Ruth Hogben, was premiered on the big screen. I think it's great when designers cross over into other areas of design and this collaboration makes perfect sense. The products are so true to Gareth's style, what an exciting opportunity for consumers to buy, and wear, a brand they admire so greatly on the catwalk as a beauty product. I need to stop talking so much and take more pictures, sorry!

Last wednesday I had the pleasure of not only attending the launch party of new magazine HUNGER, but I was also thrilled to dress the lovely Erin O'Connor, who features in the new issue, for the event.

HUNGER, brainchild of Another and Dazed and Confused's very own Rankin, is a new biannual magazine set to explore and celebrate the inner drive amongst us. This magazine provides a fresh, exciting platform for creatively minded people and is jammed packed with great features / interviews and fashion stories for £4!! The 1st issue has a cover option of Rhys Ifans or Sky Ferreira, with content inside ranging from the legendary Leonora Carrington, Milla Jovovich, to Scott Campbell, Erin O'Connor and the Winstone's family portrait! Whats more HUNGER TV launched alongside the magazine so go and check it out their fashion films and up to date news!

Kathryn Ferguson is an extremely talented young film maker, based in London. Kathryn and I have always appreciated eachother's work from afar, growing increasingly more enthusiastic to work together. When Kathryn contacted me and asked if I would style her final RCA graduate film this year, I jumped at the chance to be involved. I love Kathryn's infectious energy and wild ideas. This film was a very personal project for Kathryn, revisiting religion and cultural rituals of her Irish childhood. Kathryn introduced me to Trine Hav Christensen, also a student at the RCA, completing her MA in Fashion Design. Trine worked closely with us making all the costumes for the film, while set designer, Helen Macintyre, built the most amazing religious scenes. BEHIND THE SCENES - FRED BUTLER SS12 LOOKBOOK BY MARTINA LUISETTI

I have had THE BEST weekend shooting Fred Butler's SS12 Lookbook with Elisha Smith - Leverock. I love working and sharing a studio with Fred, she is a very special, honest talent which inspires me and my work hugely.

Fred's SS12 collection was inspired by the underwater world, which appears to be a strong theme this season. The beauty of sea creatures particularly caught Fred's attention. Their vibrant bold colourful bodies, silhouette and intricate detail and pattern can be seen clearly within Fred's collection. Fred is not a fan of making things easy for herself and this is why we love her........ Her collection includes everything from exciting sculptural headpieces, mixing wooden cane, thread and holographic detail to huge lightweight hand painted tube / slinky sleeves and circular hand painted boa's worn around the neck. Fred's collaboration with the uber talented Rosy Nicholas continued with an exciting shoe collaboration and for the 1st time ever Fred has introduced some exciting, more affordable pieces such as earrings, printed headbands, printed scarfs and amazing badges, collaborating with PINS London.

The actual lookbook will be out end of the month in time for Fred's press day with Ella Dror PR but in the meantime here are some behind the scenes pics taken by our amazing makeup artist Martina Luisetti. Thanks to Bianca Tuovi at CLM for great hair, Marian Newman for the most incredible 'Fred Butler' nails teaming up with MINX and Anastasia (my street cast) for modelling! 'I WANT MUSCLE' FASHION CREDITS

My 'I WANT MUSCLE' film, by Elisha Smith - Leverock, is causing an exciting stir after just winning Diane Pernet's ASVOFF 4 festival grand prize : ) Elisha is an extremly talented director with never ending exciting ideas. We both share a love for female body builders so when we had this opportunity to shoot for ASVOFF we jumped at the chance to create a short film that explores and challenges female beauty, focusing on female body builder Kizzy Vaines. This film was by far one of the most interesting projects I have ever worked on. Styling a female body builder..............what a fun challenge!

Kizzy Vaines is actually our only female British body builder competing for the Olympic title in Las Vagas. I imagined Kizzy to be much larger in the flesh, but in fact she is quite short and petite. Her waist is only 3 inches larger then a model and she can fit in small clothing, some model samples! What was fascinating to me was she may be small but she is certainly compact, ripped and toned beyond belief with not a mm of fast on her body. She became infectious to look at, warm, bubbly, strong, flexible and above all SEXY!! Here are some stills / fashion breakdown..........See the actual film on yesterdays post. Please enjoy!

Moving image is a really important medium for me. I love teaming up with talented directors and creating these short films that last forever. All 3 of my recent films made it into the shortlist for Diane Pernet's ASVOFF 4 festival this year, which was held at Centre Pompidu in Paris last week.

My films included: 'I want Muscle' by Elisha Smith-Leverock. 'Paris' by Zaiba Jabbar and 'Mathair' by Kathryn Ferguson. This season I had the privilege to work with uber talented Milliner Piers Atkinson again on his SS12 collection 'Hot Vodoo'. We always present Piers collections in groups of 3. The first 3 collections were printed newspaper style, collections 4,5 & 6 were all printed double sided posters and now collection 8 has followed 7 with the concept of a slim, chic, pull out Parisian menu.

Following the success of last season's lookbook, based on the dark tones of Brassai and featuring greats like Judy Blame, Princess Julia, Jenny Runacre etc...... we decided to follow suit via concept and shoot Piers SS12 collection on exciting personalities that we feel, this season, celebrate colour.

Producing the whole job I quickly gathered up our colourful characters, such as Fred Butler, Julie Verhoeven, Andrew Logan, Bethan Wood, Duggie Fields etc........... and together shot them with photographer Thomas Cooksey and Art Director Alun Davies to produce this series of portraits............... Talented director Zaiba Jabbar was also onboard the team to film all these experiences and produce a short film which premiered on Italian Vogue.com

Lazy Oaf turned the big 1-0 this week, and had a suitably cute party to celebrate. There was an exhibition of Oaf artwork, manicures by WAH, pizza transfer tattoos, balloon art, levitating cherries and crystals, not to mention dj sets by the Broken Hearts and a photobooth with burger props.

Dr Noki’s has carved a unique style for himself through customisation. His sustainable pieces have been shown twice with Fashion East and showcased in Estethica at London Fashion Week. This London fashion week saw Dr Noki's collection exhibited as an installation on Menswear Day.

His most recent work was shown through physical collection pieces and an accompanying film of the catwalk show of his pieces at this year's Lovebox festival.

Ok so I have a million posts to do about all the exciting things that swamped my September for LFW but last night I stayed at my good friend Ryan Pickard's house and he showed me his last month through iphone pics which I just LOVE!! So todays post goes out to Ryan and his wild September adventures, starting with his trip to the Pyrenees Mountains where he walked 60 miles in 4days through the same track as the prisoners of war, who escaped to the Spanish border from France.

This season I fell in love with new face Tsheca at Storm, WOW what an incredible girl, her look takes my breath away. Straight from Jamaica and only 16 this was her first season. As soon as I met her I booked her to become the face of Piers Atkinson's SS12 collection, modelling for his lookbook, shot by Thomas Cooksey, and presentation at the Sanderson. So I survived Fashion month, now minus a voice, and am back with lots of images, interviews etc........ Firstly thanks to Emily for covering me while i've been working the shows. This post goes out to the lovely Fred Butler. I share a studio with Fred and work really closely with her as a consultant and stylist. I have been dying to release images of her collection, in particular these pics I took whilst we were filming her SS12 film.......... Please visit Style Bubble to see the film.

James Long's ss 2012 show was all about the prints; leopard, snakeskin, and florals played a key part. The whole look was very sleek, which even translated to the hairstyles: off the face and flattened to the scalp. Chunky gladiator sandals and aviator sunglasses completed the ensembles while metallics gave a feeling of luxury in key pieces such as bronze trousers, golden knits and the panelled finale jacket.

Backstage at David Koma ss 2012- Report by Emily Beard

Koma's Spring/Summer collection focusses around a central material: iridescent coated perspex (result of a collaboration with jewellery designer Sarah Angold). Spikes of the ethereal coloured acrylic glass coil over the collection, twisting and turning around the body like futuristic snakes. The silhouettes are only emphasised by these, and the way the perspex catches the light of its environment makes it appear to have a life completely of it's own.
Other elements of the collection were inspired by artist Kim Joon, where the fabrics recalled an almost tattoo-like quality, and the creation of a second skin for the wearer.

Meadham Kirchhoff ss 2012- Report by Emily Beard

Those attending the Meadham Kirchhoff s/s 2012 show and expecting a similar abrupt statement as their last season would be sorely surprised. In place of the twisted sculptures that adorned the last catwalk, there were pastel balloon arches and columns, a giant glitter cake and golden curtains. There was one consistency with last season: a zine entitled 'A Cosmology of Women' placed on each seat, this time adorned with rainbow riding lambs, and scented with a curious perfume by Penhaligon's.
The show opened with a troupe of Courtney Love dancers, who strode down the catwalk with oversized powder puffs before bursting into dance.
Then the models strutted out in an explosion of cute, with ruffles, fuzz, pastel and candy. The shocked audience barely had a moment to catch their breath before the models disappeared and were replaced with another dance troupe, this time mini ballerinas. They performed in the centre and another batch of models appeared, working their kawaii flat-forms like troupers.
The sense of optimism and excitement was so overwhelming that, for a small time at least, it reminded the stunned audience that fashion cannot just be inspiring, but that it is also fun.

Nasir Mazhar ss 2012- Report by Emily Beard

Nasir Mazhar's Spring/Summer 2012 presentation saw a takeover of the lower floor in Topshop's Waterloo show space. A live DJ (DJ Big John) mixed in the back while a crew of models displayed everything form box-peak bully caps to a fluoro-bright hijab. Once the space had drawn the sizeable fashion crowd, two of the models (better knows as the prolific grime MCs Lioness and Shystie) took over, launching into ferocious rhymes that transported the crowd from the old eurostar terminal straight into an underground party.
The collection mixed prints such as leopard and polka to reflect Mazhar's cultural mashup style, and his vision of the urban concrete jungle.

Louise Gray ss 2012- Report by Emily Beard

As everyone knows, Louise Gray is a fan of of colour. But it might come as a surprise that she's a fan of everyone's favourite poor little rich girl, Cher Horowitz of Clueless (as revealed in the opening monologue). This did make a little more sense when compared with the invite to her ss 2012 show: fake money (in primary colours of course) emblazoned with the phrase 'trust me, my money's a fun magnet'.
The theme of money continued throughout the show, with bags for guests shouting 'Eat my outfit!' and a soundtrack which included Rich Girl by Gwen Stefani.
The clothes themselves stayed true to Gray's signature haphazard kaleidoscope style, with a further signature of Gray's (layering) being exercised to full effect. There was significant detail to each piece, such as embroidery and prints, but yet somehow still oozed that effortless glamour of the woman herself.

Ok so after a while away I am back and have lots of share............... We have just finished shooting Piers Atkinson's new SS12 collection and although these pieces are NOT in the collection I thought I would start my many blogs with a nod to Piers. These amazing new Cherry headbands, all with veils, made by Piers Atkinson are exclusively for the amazing Alan Journo who has a store in Milan.

I would go as far as to say Alan Journo has one of the most exciting stores in the world stocking all the latest designer gear as well as special exclusive pieces. Anna Dello Russo is a loyal customer and we can see why. I can't wait to meet Alan when he visits London for LFW - hopefully I will get to chat to him in some detail, so will keep you updated.

This weekend Skunk Anansie kicked off their international summer tour with a performance on British soil at the Download Festival. One of the best parts of my job as a stylist is working with Skunk Anansie, creating concepts / looks for her tour. Skin is a massive inspiration to me, not only as a talented artist but as a human being. Her adventurous style and open attitude has allowed me to pull in some of London's most talented designers. This time we welcome a collaboration between New Generation jewellery designer Fannie Schiavoni, who made the most amazing silver metal top, Keko Hainswheeler, who constructed these incredible feather shoulders and Michelle Warner who always makes the most exciting catsuits.

I love the way Lucinda Chambers has created these incredibly bold silhouettes concentrating on the head each time, building a framework of texture against Guinevere's face. Last friday I went along to the launch of Karlie Shelley and Princess Julia's new pop up boutique, The Amwell Street Knocking Shop, 63 Amwell Street EC1 1UR. This two story cute little boutique will be open for next six weeks on a friday, saturday and sunday and is rammed to the ceiling with the most amazing bargains. Shelfs, windows and rails are stacked with designers such as Piers Atkinson, Hermione De Paula, Westwood, Pam Hogg, Givenchy, Dior, JCDC, Judy Blame, the list goes on!!

Piers Atkinson was commissioned by Ashley Isham for the first time to produce a series of headpieces for Ashley Isham's AW11 London catwalk collection. Here are some documented images of some of the pieces, modelled by Ivy Sun along with a short interview below.

How did this relationship with Ashley Isham begin?

We were introduced by power house stylist Celestine Cooney with whom I have worked with before making headpieces for Ashish's runway shows, which Celestine also styles.

What was your brief?

Celestine is very familiar with my work and knew I could produce something that could be relevant to Ashley's sensual red carpet design. When she saw the pieces I made especially for Patti Wilson's shoot with Solve Sundsbo, for the february fashion week issue of Italian Vogue, she knew we were onto something. We added chopsticks and tasles and I ended up making about 30 pieces, fusing chopsticks, tassles, dot veiling and silk flowers from a simple comelia over the ear to a vast ruched tulle explosion peppered with flowers for Ashley Isham's bridal finale runway piece.

What is it like for you working in this way?

What is so amazing about commissions is the super short time span where you almost don't have time to think and before you know it these ideas spring into life as they sashay down the runway in front of your very eyes. Of course the best part is whizzing backstage to sip a glass of champagne with Ashley and Celestine.

Last year I did a feature on the launch of East London's new concept store 123 for Dazed Digital. Yesterday I decided to revisit the store and see how the place is doing six months on....... The store has just taken on Fanny and Jessy, selling most of their S/S11 collection, on the 1st floor. Sharing this floor were a couple of pairs of really cool Alice Palmer spike leggings, lots and lots of amazing new Dr Noki pieces and some great Maria Francesca Pepe jewellery on the ground floor.

He launched his debut menswear collection in Jan, as part of Fashion East, collaborated with Chloe for the A/W11 catwalk collection, in Paris, became part of the elite client list at London's coolest new PR Ella Dror and amongst this is producing exclusive pieces for 123...........

If JJ (Dr Noki) had his own hospital this would be it!

This archive piece was a commission from Judy Blame for an i-D shoot, I remember sitting with JJ and Judy in his old studio while he made this...... so good.

J.W.Anderson is doing great things as creative director at Sunspel and teaming up with photographer Alasdair McLellan to shoot this amazing short film is just one of them! This 6 minute film takes Sunspel to the legendary East London boxing club, Repton, to see my mate Ryan Pickard and the boys sweat it out! Boxing is such a massive part of Ryan's life but one I have never really seen, as his mate, so its very special for me to see Ryan like this. Your quite good Ryan : )

It was amazing to be woken up on saturday morning by drums, dancing and this .................... a sikh wedding on our street! There was so much colour and glamour it made up for parts that were missing on a certain wedding the day before...... Everyone huddled together dancing between the groom, chilling on a white horse dripping with gold and proudly showing off red glitter toe nails, and the stunning stretched hummer limo........ I loved it!

Andrew's home, shared with architect partner Michael, is a brightly coloured, reflective, glitter feast for the eyes......... House of Organza is an extremely special project for Lyall and I . It provides the chance to work with some of London's most creative designers, all specialists in their own discipline, and bring them together each season to create a collection under one roof - HOO. This season HOO joined the impressive client list of London's new and most exciting PR - ELLA DROR to launch 'MUSE'.

Lyall and I were inspired by all things blue, in particular the work of Yves Klein, so decided for HOO's 3rd season we would ask our team (Piers Atkinson, Fred Butler, Dr Noki, Judy Blame, Lyall Hakaraia, Craig Lawrence and new member Patternity) to each take 1 square metre of canvas, paint it the blue of their choice, listening to the words of Mr Roy (HOO's muse this season) and mix with any other blue material of their choice to make their piece. Below are images of some of the pieces at our press day. An exhibition will follow in the summer so stay tuned..........

Atalanta Weller is one of London's most exciting shoe designers. I met her years ago when she made shoes for Gareth Pugh, whilst I was assisting Nicola Formichetti. Atalanta then went on to work with Henry Holland and Sinah-Stanic and is now enjoying her 4th successful season at NEW GEN.

Weller's A/W11 collection takes inspiration from Ziggy Stardust, Louise Brooks and animal prints, which can be seen throughout the collection. Zig Zags appear by contrast of colour or fabric or used subtly within stitching. With a controlled colour palette of black, brown and leopard print, Weller mixes suede, leather, and patent to produce a tight chic collection keeping her signature wedge and introducing an elegant gold heel.

This season we shot a lookbook with photographer Karina Twiss. Karina has not long finished assisting Solve Sundsbo and is most definitely a photographer to keep a close eye on!

This season Weller collaborated with jewellery designer Fannie Schiavoni to produce this ankle boot wedge with Fannie's jewellery detail decorating both walls of the wedge. This is available in black or brown suede.

I, along with many others, am very sad not to see Hannah Marshall on the catwalk this season. I love working with Hannah, she is an extremely talented young British designer. This post is to you Hannah. Here are some shots of Hannah's S/S11 collection, photographed by Thomas Cooksey. I wanted to focus on the lighter palette of the collection.

Piers Atkinson has produced the most amazing A/W11 collection titled 'Paris'. To celebrate we are having an exhibition at Franny's in Soho, which opens its doors today and will stay open throughout LFW (closed sunday). This has been one of the most exciting projects I have ever worked on shooting subjects like Zandra Rhodes, Judy Blame, Jenny Runacre etc........

Rankin introduced me to the band Alpines as they provided the music for our Hannah Marshall S/S11 fashion film. Since then I have grown really interested in their sound so was excited to style their first music video with the Stamp boys. Here it is!

Skunk Anansie have just left for their European tour and spending last week with them in rehearsals and fittings I thought it might be cool to take a look back at Skin's looks on stage and give a shout out to all those who helped me make our ideas come to life. Thanks gang!!

Amazing New Gen Jewellery designer Fannie Schiavoni made Skin a silver scale body armour top and gloves.

Keko Hainswheeler made Skin the most amazing feather shoulder show piece, that sits on top of the silver scale madness. Skunk begin their set in total silhouette so Skins outline looks amazing!..............I will post pics of this later as I was backstage so could not take any : (

David Koma kindly made Skin this SICK black sheer / matt catsuit with his famous silver zip detail, running down the centre of each leg and adorning the shoulders when the showpieces come off for the rest of the gig........ Thanks David!! Shoes Victor and Rolf.

Keko also made Skin this amazing feather / leather strip wing jacket which actually weighs about the same as Skin. I love these Victor and Rolf teeth soles!!

This jacket is one of Charles Youssef's many pieces he made for Skin. I love his graphic bold lines............check out his MA collection. So Skin.

I work with an amazing pattern cutter, machinist called Michelle Warner who makes a lot of Skins catsuits. I love sourcing fabrics that will be good for stage and am able to work with Michelle closely to make exactly what we want. Having worked for some of the most major fashion houses Michelle's catsuits can withstand Skins crowd surfing and stage antics which is great for me.
