Mariel Neudecker is a German born, UK- based artist, who in her ongoing series Tank Works fuses chemistry and sculpture, creating 3-D landscapes contracted within large aquariums.
Neudecker fills glass tanks with water and miniature sculptural objects such as trees, mountains and ships, then adds various chemicals to the aquariums, sparking a reaction that creates unique atmospheres while also forming contained climates that have a gradual change over time.
