MAARTEN VAN DER HORST SS13
CRAIG GREEN SS13
I have been following Craig Green since his BA collection at CSM. His approach to menswear really stood out with his use of interesting materials, such as wood and foam and DIY approach. Craig continued to develop his ideas with an outstanding MA collection, and is going from strength to strength as he debuts his SS13 collection as part of the BFC's London's Showrooms thanks to Fashion East. With a palette of white, cream, black and slashes of check, this collection explores 'out of the ordinary British tradition' with a nod to Guy Fawkes. Materials include, mohair, crinkle washed calico, screen printed suede and a knitwear collaboration with Helen Lawrence. Watch this space!

KATIE EARY SS13
The West Coast and skaters seem to have inspired much of Mens SS13 and Katie Eary was no exception. The models were armed with oversized white crocodile rucksacks and branded skateboards as they stomped to a heavy "God Save The Queen' by Mano. Print was everywhere, focus being on fish, in particular the goldfish, which also tagged onto bags and made it down the runway like a little finding nemo! The contrast of light silk and heavy neoprene on the boys made a interesting mix and worked with all the layers styled by Way Perry while the women flashed flesh in swimsuits and bikini's. Now what would Katie's swimwear for men look like? I'd like to see that! |
CHILD OF THE JAGO SS13
Child of the Jago presented their new SS13 collection friday evening at the beautifully suited House of St Barnabas, Soho, hosted by the fabulous Jeanette. Models appeared walking the room in new season's colour palette of navy, chocolate, biscuit and mushroom, paired with few pastel prints and pops of bold red. Pattern was led by the 'Dalston Laundry Bag' which featured as a print on head, neck and pocket scarfs, trimmings, as well as bold all over jackets and shorts, for men and women. |
My favourite pieces from Child of the Jago are always their hats and this new lineup has got me really excited to shoot and buy...... |

I LOVE the simplicity of this felt cap, I wonder if they will make one for me in blue? |

YMC SS13
YMC showed their SS13 collection in the basement of Phonica record shop, Soho. It was an intimate show inspired by 'vintage Kimono prints, early 60's West Coast surf culture and 80's casuals'. With a 17 year history YMC is clear about it's image and customer. 'form should always follow function, resulting in clothes that have a timeless appeal'.
MARTINE ROSE SS13
Martine Rose is definitely up there with one of best shows I have seen this weekend. Unfortunately my photo's do not do justice so here is just one from the finale.... Amazing decorated white stocking masks by Scott Ramsay Kyle concealed the face of every model breeding a tribe /pack/ new breed. The collection was made up of oversized denim, snakeskin shorts/ trousers and bold neoprene creating rigid solid shapes. Overall a really concise, tight collection beautifully styled by Max Pearmain. |
TOPMAN SS13
My first show was Topman and what a way to start! The old Sorting office proved to be a great space again and the multi coloured neon strip central to the catwalk was a good hint to what we were about to see from Topman's SS13 collection. This was every inch a summer time feeling with not 1 pair of trousers in sight, although layers and beanies reminded us we are in Britain. The show was packed with bold, bright colours throughout, acid orange, fuchsia pink and peacock blue, teamed and clashing with strong, hectic prints, inspired by american graffiti artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. The rucksacks were a firm favourite with skateboards weaved through some, along with the basketball twin sets, revealing a little midriff for the summer : ) Let hope the right kind of midriffs buy these pieces! |
