BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS at SELFRIDGES
NOKI-NOIR-POUR DANDY A/W11
This season Dr Noki launched his very first menswear collection titled NOKI-NOIR-POUR DANDY. The collection has a very different feel to his womenswear, the bold graphic prints, manipulated branding and cartoon characters have been replaced with a mature focused colour palette of grey, navy and black, with a punch of colour and famous pen work only on braces. This collection is all about silhouette. High waisted trousers and knee length shorts paired with bike courier bondage leggings, sharp shirts buttoned to the top with huge hip-hop sleeves covering the elbow and New Era caps redesigned with a collaboration between Dr Noki and Piers Atkinson. I shot the above image for JJ (Dr Noki) with photographer Morgan White before we went to Paris where Dr Noki debuted his collection alongside other exciting London menswear designers such as James Long, Katie Eary and J W Anderson as part of the BFC and Tim Blanks - London Show Rooms.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF ZANDRA RHODES

I grew up obsessed with Zandra Rhodes. As a child I would sit and sketch non stop, read every book and interview and drag my mum to London to visit her Textile Museum in Bermondsey. Her freedom, playful energy, line and confidence with colour was such a huge inspiration and perhaps is the reason I love to work so much with colour and line now........ With all this in mind you can imagine it was such a great honour to actually go and visit her at her home. Now I can't say why I was there but here are some pics - welcome to the world of Zandra Rhodes!!

INSIDE ZANDRA RHODES SKETCHBOOKS...........
As you can imagine Zandra's studio is an Aladdin's cave of colour, with the walls covered in sketches, references and print ideas she also has the most amazing collection of sketchbooks!!! I was lucky enough to photograph some of her work as she whizzed though the pages describing each scene and explaining that she has 1 sketchbook rule - always start at the front and don't miss a page!!
