HANNAH MARSHALL A/W10

This season Hannah Marshall showed her A/W10 collection ON SCHEDULE at LFW. Her collection is based on body restriction, with strong influences from Jean Paul Goude and a nod to S + M.

The collection begins with a floor length, high neck, long sleeve body-con dress with a subtle introduction to Hannah's slit theme appearing at the elbow. As the collection develops the high neck remains but the slits become ever more overt, exposing more and more skin at the knee, hip, waist, shoulder and wrist. With a colour palette of Oil, Ink and Nuclear, fabrics include velvet, latex, stretch suede, neoprene, toscana lamb fur, leather, satin and sheer. Another successful collaboration with Hannah Martin saw multiple razor sharp, gunmetal spear rings worn on the index finger building in layers as the collection progressed. It was an honour to work so closely with Hannah Marshall, consulting and styling her show, she is a real inspiration and great fun : ) Massive thank you to all the team - Hannah's crew, my crew, Shelley Durkan, Lyndell Mansfield, Alex Box, WAH nails and Malcolm Pate.

PIERS ATKINSON A/W10

Piers Atkinson's A/W10 Lookbook

Pier's showpieces for J Maskrey's A/W10 catwalk show - LFW

It may only be his 5th season but Piers Atkinson is proving to be one of London's hottest Milliners. Piers is known for his humorous, colourful fun creations but this season we see the humour turn dark as his A/W10 collection - ' It's Later Than You Think' guides us through the lives of many widows who have just polished off their husbands and seem more concerned with looking fierce than mourning. The colour palette remains dark with mainly black, grays and the occasional nude, interrupted by a spill of blood red. Faces are often masked with hair, antique lace or veils sprinkled in beauty spots, crystals, sequins or pearls in the form of tears or skull's teeth. Gunmetal spikes trim headbands and small fascinators, available also in badges, thanks to PINS LONDON. With a garnish of feathers, netting, hair and of course 1 naked action man ( drowning in black sequined quick sand) you have a very exciting, ambitious and chic collection. Piers is a huge inspiration and I feel very proud to be a part of his world, working so closely with him on all these projects.

As well as his own collection Piers made the showpieces for J Maskrey A/W10 catwalk show styled by the legend that is Judy Blame.

VOGUE loves 'HOUSE OF ORGANZA'

At the end of last year i teamed up with the talented Lyall Hakaraia and Vogue fabric and together we made 'HOUSE OF ORGANZA'. H.O.O came about when Lyall decided he wanted to cover the whole front of Vogue Fabric with the frill mania of organza and so I commissioned a small handful of London's hottest designers to make whatever they wanted as long as it remained white, included organza and stuck to their own discipline. These designers included - PIERS ATKINSON, FRED BUTLER, JUDY BLAME, GLOVED UP, LYALL HAKARAIA, CRAIG LAWRENCE, DR NOKI and ATALANTA WELLER. I feel so lucky to be able to call on such amazing designers, they made this project what it is so massive thank you to all of them - inspiration overload!!!

The amazing Mari Sarai jumped on board and we shot all these pieces for a Dazed exclusive on Dazed Digital. It was really important for me to shoot each designer's piece individually so each image became about that design and nothing else and then to end we wanted to shoot the whole H.O.O creations at once to see how the disciplines all locked together. We celebrated this with an exhibition and party at Vogue fabric ( sadly British weather meant Lyall was unable to cover the front of Vogue Fabric), but the pieces have been doing the rounds with other creative's ever since, which brings me to the 2 images below of H.O.O in the March issue of Vogue. Thanks Vogue !!!

What happens when we mix Volt, F.TAPE & a sprinkle of Swarovski?.................

FRED BUTLER

HANNAH MARSHALL

CRAIG LAWRENCE

KATIE EARY

DEAN QUINN

HOLLY FULTON

Fashion week kicked off with the exhibition and online auction for 'Volt & F.TAPE get CRYSTALLIZED' at the Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED cafe. Volt magazine, F.TAPE and Swarovski all joined forces in a special project commissioning 8 of Britain's hottest designers to each transform 1 of Volt's 8 front covers. Designers included - FRED BUTLER, HANNAH MARSHALL, CRAIG LAWRENCE, DEAN QUINN, KATIE EARY, HOLLY FULTON, MANJIT DEU and GEMMA SLACK. It was really exciting to see how each designer used their cover, the crystals mixed with other materials and made it their own and although many designers work was 3D it was fasinating to see these designs in poster format rather than clothing on the body. What an exciting project!!! I can't wait to see who buys these pieces - you can follow the online auction on F.TAPE and the exhibition is open until sunday 14th March at the Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED cafe, 24 Great Marlborough Street, W1.
