Atalanta Weller is one of London's most exciting shoe designers. I met her years ago when she made shoes for Gareth Pugh, whilst I was assisting Nicola Formichetti. Atalanta then went on to work with Henry Holland and Sinah-Stanic and is now enjoying her 4th successful season at NEW GEN.
Weller's A/W11 collection takes inspiration from Ziggy Stardust, Louise Brooks and animal prints, which can be seen throughout the collection. Zig Zags appear by contrast of colour or fabric or used subtly within stitching. With a controlled colour palette of black, brown and leopard print, Weller mixes suede, leather, and patent to produce a tight chic collection keeping her signature wedge and introducing an elegant gold heel.
This season we shot a lookbook with photographer Karina Twiss. Karina has not long finished assisting Solve Sundsbo and is most definitely a photographer to keep a close eye on!
This season Weller collaborated with jewellery designer Fannie Schiavoni to produce this ankle boot wedge with Fannie's jewellery detail decorating both walls of the wedge. This is available in black or brown suede. Photographer - Karina Twiss
