FELDER FELDER A/W12 AT LONDON FASHION WEEK: REPORT BY KATIE TILLYER
Blondes were the inspiration behind Felder Felder's offering this year - an homage, perhaps, to the sisters' own golden locks - but this was less of an icy, wintry feel than a warm, earthy autumnal vibrance that ran through the entire collection. The Mayan calendar had played a strong conceptual part in the collection, and the geological pattern and colour scheme seemed to find enlightenment in going back to the the two warmest elements, earth and fire.
This was present more in some pieces than others; the flared skirt silhouette used only the colour gold to reference minerals, with the navy blue toned pieces doing the same with beaded crystal embellishment. Snatches of modernity in the accessories and the silhouette for me, brought the collection back round to the present day and balanced the whole show. All in all, it was a covetable and grown-up collection, that ended leaving me wanting to see more of it, particularly a studded orange clutch bag that matched the fiery knitwear.
